It’s not about the runners. One day it may turn out this whole marathon was a work of a bored composer. Runners, police, refreshing points and volunteers – are all only instruments or instrumentalists, to help turning city soundscape inside out. While drivers and pedestrians are pulled into a gigantic spectacle, involuntarily and unconsciously. There is no way to fully embrace this gargantuan piece for countless number of running shoes, police whistles, jammed streets, enthusiastic cheers of more or less chance lookers-on and a choir of confused malcontents. The score stretches along irregular loop, 42195 meters long. The orchestra paces it in seemingly uncoordinated way. Seemingly, as it all was precisely arranged months ahead. Both in headquarters and individual training plans. Step by step.

Nie chodzi o biegaczy. Któregoś dnia może okazać się, ze ten cały maraton jest dziełem znudzonego kompozytora. A biegacze, policja, punkty regeneracyjne i wolontariusze – to tylko instrumenty albo instrumentaliści, za pomocą których wywraca się tkankę dźwiękową miasta na lewą stronę. Zaś kierowcy i przechodnie mimowolnie i bezwiednie wciągnięci są w gigantyczny spektakl. Nie sposób w całości ogarnąć gargantuiczną kompozycję na niezliczone ilości butów sportowych, gwizdki policyjne, zakorkowane ulice, entuzjastyczne okrzyki, mniej lub bardziej przypadkowych, kibiców oraz chór zagubionych malkontentów. Partytura rozciąga się wzdłuż nieregularnej pętli o długości 42195m. Orkiestra przemierza ją w pozornie nieskoordynowany sposób. Pozornie, to wszystko bowiem zostało skrupulatnie zaaranżowane na wiele miesięcy wcześniej - zarówno w sztabie organizacyjnym, jak i w indywidualnych planach treningowych. Krok po kroku.
